
Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS)
WHAT IS IT?
Acute coronary syndromes are a set of symptoms indicating that the heart is not receiving enough blood and oxygen to meet its needs. This is a medical emergency. Symptoms can include uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the chest, shortness of breath, pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach. The term ACS includes heart attack and unstable angina.
